Nvidia pushed out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Shield TV (2015) and is now recruiting testers for the Shield and Shield K1 tablets. If all goes well, the update will roll out in “a few weeks”.
You can read this post on Google+ if you’re interested in joining the beta tester program. We’re talking the same Shield Upgrade 5.0 that the TV got (based on Android 7.0 Nougat), impressive considering the original Shield tablet launched with Android 4.4 KitKat!
In case you missed it, GeForce Now will support up to GTX 1080 performance and you can stream No Man’s Sky and other games from Nvidia’s cloud (or stream a game locally from your GeForce-powered PC with HDR video support). The new Shield Controller will be supported (the one that came out with the updated Shield TV console).
