Congolese President Stays in Office After Term’s End, Amid High Political Tension

Tensions in the DRC remain high this week, after months of political unrest. The main opposition coalition has called for people to resist, saying it does not recognize Joseph Kabila as a legitimate president after he remained in office past the end of his elected mandate.
